Biodegradable refers to the ability of materials to break down and return to nature. In order for packaging products or materials to qualify as biodegradable, they must completely break down and decompose into natural elements within a short time after disposal – typically a year or less.

Anytime a customer drops, mishandles, or carries goods from one place to another, secondary packaging is there to protect the item from damage. For example, a hand cream lotion tube at a cosmetic store comes with a kraft paper-board case that contains branding, company logos, values, and pricing information. The outer cylindrical paper-board also plays a crucial role in advertising as well as shielding your brand and product from potential damage.
